Over the past few years, Nike has become more comfortable and flexible in refining their iconic products. The Nike Air Force 1 shoes, for instance, showed off their fans designs with details like splashes of paint, traditional Sashiko stitching, and even a cap upper. Similar to the latest design, this upcoming design covers its upper entirely with wrapping paper – the same material found in every new shoe box we see.
Adding to the overall unboxing experience, the design effectively doubles as one of sneaker culture’s favorites. The aforementioned paper, permanently printed “AF1”, is attached very loosely to the underlying shell. Along the side, there appears to be only a set of light stitching that connects the wrap to the leather back, making it easier to rip off until you get a good fit.
And once you do, you’ll find a subtle colorway, a colorway adorned with white-tone leather, and a very interesting milky brown look midsole. Other details have not changed too much with the original design.
