Almost a decade ago, the Nike LeBron line underwent a rapid change as the young king abandoned his hometown of Ohio for the warmer pastures of South Beach. Suddenly, teal and pink became entrenched in the fabric of LeBron shoes, bursting onto the scene with the infamous LeBron 8 release “South Beach” which premiered just before its official Miami debut. As part of the big intro to Heat fans, LeBron, joined by Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, promised multiple NBA Championships right out of the gate.
This LeBron 8 V2 dubbed “Miami Nights” was thought to be a nod to LeBron’s debut NBA Championship in his debut season with his new team. Once again, building on the teal and pink of South Beach, Nike added a full confetti-like pattern to mimic the party scene at championship parades. Of course, things didn’t go as planned as the Florida super-team fell to the hottest Dallas Mavericks under Dirk Nowitzki. This unexpected loss is probably what forced Nike to postpone the release of the LeBron 8 Low V2 “Miami Nights”; it was probably expected to drop right after the final, but we didn’t see a release until September of this year.
Currently, the LeBron 8 Low V2 “Miami Nights” is listed on some release schedules for May 11, 2021, but given the fragile nature of release dates this year, it may still be subject to change. For now, mark your calendars for 5/11/21 and stay tuned for updates.
